This quote from Andy Baylor’s album insert sums up Down Where The Banksias Grow perfectly, “There are variations in style and mood, for which I make no apology. I humbly offer these words and this music in the hope that it will stimulate the body, soothe the mind and inspire the spirit.” Full of folksy ballads and country musings, this 14-track album offers tunes from the “great beyond,” paying respect to Australia’s Indigenous community. Baylor’s extensive industry experience makes it sound like the songs were strung together effortlessly one Sunday afternoon on an outback porch instead of West Melbourne.
