The Strawberry Hills Hotel sets the pace as an upmarket bistro in a sophisticated setting with a classic pub feel. Despite sporting some big name items like Pork Belly, Duck Confit and Murray Bridge Sirloin Steak, as well as classics like Chicken Parmigiana, nothing on the menu is over $15. They provide the best quality on the plate and an extensive wine list to match. A recently renovated rooftop courtyard has turned the 24-hour pub into a bustling night-time hotspot. The patronage is a complete mix; while business clientele frequent during the day, the bar opens up for an arty Surry Hills crowd at night. The bistro serves from lunchtime and happy hour runs from 3:30-5:30pm with $3.50 local beers. (Jason Marshall) 453 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills
