Merida (Kelly Macdonald) is a fiery redheaded Scottish princess with a passion for her freedom and a love of archery. But when it comes time to hang up her bow and fulfill family tradition she will do anything to change her fate. After a spell goes wrong she is left with two days to save her family and break a curse.
Macdonald is perfectly cast as Merida and with leads including Billy Connolly and Emma Thompson this film makes for a thoroughly enjoyable adventure.
Multilayered comedy ensures laughs from all ages and after all who doesn’t love a little bit of slapstick? As always, Pixar is able to add this to their swag of animated favourites. ****
