Bar Fly: Garden Bar by The Corner House
Ashtrays. Astroturf. Paper straws. Plastic cups. This fabulous, outdoor pop-up bar, cradled in the arms of the Sydney Opera House, is just the place to settle in for the Australia Day Long Weekend, with magnificent Sydney Harbour views for the Ferrython.
After the raging success of their October-long Veuve Clicquot pop-up, Bullion Bar at The Mint, the Trippas White Group have cleverly relaunched the space with another bubbling golden liquid. Luckily I was on hand for the launch of their Moët & Chandon pop-up, as there were countless gold-plated goblets of Moët & Chandon Impérial to be consumed!
Earlier this month I headed to Old Growler to see the two winning bartenders crowned from the Glenfiddich Pioneers Cocktail Competition. Evan Stanley from Black Pearl (VIC) took out first place for his Red Right Hand, which makes Glenfiddich 12-year-old single malt whisky into a clever aperitif by teaming it with Antica Formula, Campari and Joseph Catron Apricot.
