If you missed the Harry Potter hoopla then you must have been living under a rock. The boy who lived was everywhere for years and just when you thought you’d heard the last of that lightning-scarred sorcerer, Gallery Burlesque is bringing him to The Standard in Surry Hills.
This twisted take on the adventures of the world’s most favourite wizard is sure to be an event to remember. For one night only Australia’s best burlesque performers will shimmy and shake their way through a lively parody of all the Hogwarts heroes.
“What better way to farewell Potter and friends than getting them to strip for joy,” says Onur Karaozbek, the man behind the idea and Director of Gallery Burlesque.
Muggles in the audience can expect an evening spent immersed in the magical world of witches and wizards.“Everyone who joins us will be transported to a land of magic with favourite characters on the stage years after their graduation,” says Karaozbek.
Karaozbek says the show will contain all the best elements from the Harry Potter series: fire, magic, reptiles and a lot of fun. “Like any other Gallery Burlesque show, anticipate nothing and expect everything.
