HOPE SPRINGS

This sweet and simple film proves love is about the small gestures; holding hands, light touches, exchanging secret looks and knowing the other person so well words are the last things needed in conversation. Love is hard; a relationship needs constant work and effort from both involved. Don’t watch Hope Springs if you disagree.
In this dramedy equilibrium is lost; small gestures are forgotten and effort needs to be made. Enter prim-and-proper Kay (Meryl Streep), mans-man, cynical Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones), and hard-to-take-seriously therapist, Dr. Feld (Steve Carell). Thanks to the high quality cast this film is easy to watch, witty, and at times moving – although the racy “sexperiments” between a middle-aged couple may induce cringing for those under 25.
