Whilst you wouldn’t normally associate country music with New Zealand, songstress Jamie McDell puts forth a record which sits effortlessly within the genre.

McDell does a wonderful job of blending touching singer-songwriter elements with the catchiness of pop all under a veneer of country sounds.

Throughout the record McDell’s vocal performance slides from sultry to strong and powerful with ease. Bad Attitude is a particularly special example of this.

Other standout tracks include, Running Now, Extraordinary Girl and Under The Bonnet.

Extraordinary Girl will appeal to those not usually drawn to the country sound but will also placate those more familiar with the genre.
