A cacophony of silent purrs and meows jump out from works within the Kawaii Girls & Pussy Art Exhibition that fill the Tap Gallery with art featuring fiercely adorable females and ferociously cute felines. With artworks varying from 3-D clay models, prints, paintings and illustrations, there’s something for every connoisseur to enjoy the aesthetics of kawaii (cute) pieces. Kenji Mera is a standout artist as he explores the art of adaptation within Cat Festival, a work that takes Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix and transforms it into a moshpit of felines at the forefront of a French revolution-inspired backdrop. The exhibition is a world of pretty pastels, intricate design and refined brushstrokes depicting strong females and cats doing what they do best – oozing nonchalance while being irresistibly cute.
