Utterly ridiculous; these two words best sum up the essence of Piranha 3D. The latest Hollywood monster horror to hit the silver screen tells the tale of a murderous school of prehistoric man-eating fish rising up amongst spring break after a sudden underwater tremor sets them free. Everything on offer here is as you would expect and while it all comes off as overwhelmingly corny, it’s all intentionally so and actually ends up adding to the films overall enjoyment. Simply put though, if you’re a fan of the over-the-top monster movie, or love your blood, guts and body parts in an overwhelming abundance, you just can’t pass this 3D gore fest. The fish are calling. (AG)
