PIRATES! BAND OF MISFITS

The latest from Aardman Animations (creators of Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run), The Pirates! Band of Misfits is laugh-out-loud funny with Hugh Grant lending his voice to The Pirate Captain, the luxuriant bearded but sometimes clumsy leader of his band of misfits (wonderfully named Pirate with Gout, Albino Pirate, Surprisingly Curvaceous Pirate etc). Throw the quest to win Pirate of the Year, an evil pirate-hating Queen Victoria, and Charles Darwin into the mix, and you’ve got a rollicking adventure across the high seas. Visually gorgeous, with lots of twists and turns in the plot, The Pirates! Band of Misfits is a great film for kids and adults alike. (AH) ****
