Rose Cousins’ most recent album is a pleasure to listen to.
Cousins’ voice is like musical honey, made by tonally perfect bees. Her beautiful voice rises and falls in an unpredictable melody, flowing river-like through the brain of the listener. Tambourines and guitars flow in layers through the rhythmic water.
Time is recommended for listening to this exquisite songbird. She has the vocal breadth of Claire Bowditch and the melodic creativity of Regina Spektor. Listeners won’t need to shuffle other music around this album.
We Have Made a Spark is an intoxicating listen, drink it in. (SP)
