In a comic nerd’s ultimate wet dream, the inked illustrations of Sydney playwright Natalia Savvides will come to life with the helping hand of performances by mixed-media collective Fetish Frequency in The Light Box. Watch as the tale of a woman who seeks a fresh start in a jungle far away turns into something much more complex: the blank pages a ledger marking the costs of freedom and the debts transferred across the generations. Plus if you haven’t already, this is a good chance to check out the Sydney Film Festival’s dabble into curated party spaces, the Hub at Lower Town Hall. There’s a swathe of sweet-sounding free events on planned, so if it works, we’re on board! (AB)
Jun 9, 6-7pm, Sydney Film Festival Hub @ Lower Town Hall, 483 George St (enter Druitt St), Sydney, free, sff.org.au
