It’s the dirty red heart of Australia’s iron ore mining boom, to which thousands of dreamers rush every year on a vision of excitement and easy money: the future in ochre-tinted glasses. The Pilbara Region in WA is also the setting of acclaimed writer Sue Smith (Brides of Christ, The Leaving of Liverpool)’s new play, Strange Attractor, developed as part of the Griffin Playwright’s Residency program.
