The Council is encouraging elderly locals to take part in a newly formed walking group

The Glebe Urban Walking Group has been introduced on a trial basis after the council received feedback from Glebe members last year who wanted a walking group in the area looking for a social aspect to their physical exercise.

The group is tailored for participants over 55 years. The walks last one hour and are free.

The Council also runs a monthly walking group, which takes participants to popular sites like the Botanical Gardens and Bondi Beach.

This popular service attracts both die-hard walkers and people who want to go for a leisurely stroll.

The Glebe Urban Walking group meets every Monday at 10am at St Helen’s Community Centre in Glebe.

For more information on the new group, interested participants can call Jaimie on 9265 9489 or contact the City of Sydney Council.
