The fourth album from Sydney hip-hop artist and producer Tim Levinson, aka Urthboy, is an unfolding of brilliant storytelling exploring the dualism of light and darkness. With stunning piano chords and soaring vocals in The Big Sleep and Hey Dianne the two are immediate standouts, complemented by the comparatively humorous Clean Slate and Knee Length Socks – an infectious, bop-inducing glimpse into the life of a wide-eyed Levinson caught up in the 90s Britpop era. The multi-talented MC also recruits the likes of Alex Burnett (Sparkadia), hip hop up-and-comer, Jimblah, with co-production by Hermitude and CountBounce. Smokey’s Haunt is catchy, humorous, and teeming with clever lyrics. (SY)
