Sydney’s Mexican revolution continues with another fast, fresh anglicised Mexican venue rolling out in Darlinghurst. With their closest competitor only footsteps away, they’ll need to carve out their own niche – my hit prediction is it will be their luscious marinated lamb steak… but I digress. The space is modern, clean and bright, in the unmissable shade of lime green. It’s roomy and pleasant to dine in; and you should dine-in, this food gets messy. They’re down with modern dietary concerns offering up all fillings in a Bol ($9.90) – think burrito in a bowl, minus the tortilla. I am also pleased to report they only use organically raised “happy chickens”. Begin by choosing your style – I tried them all (bar the bol) and liked the clever Dos Capas ($4.95) the best. It’s a hard taco (which can be pesky to devour) wrapped in a soft tortilla – crafty! My Burrito ($9.90) filled with excellent tender hunks of perfectly cooked lamb steak with coriander salsa and white sauce (garlic and herbs) won my vote for best filling – plus it’s less dense than your average burrito, and the Mission tortillas scrub up well. I also thought the tasty, mild adobo grilled chicken with corn salsa and chipotle sauce suited a Taco ($3.95).
